Do you know how to engage with the Quran?

There is something that has been bothering me for quite some time now and it is the realization that so many Muslims (especially youth) are not engaging with the Quran as they should be.

Instead of reading and trying to understand it many people feel that the Quran is too complex, too long, too repetitive, too sacred, scary, even dangerous and so avoid the exercise altogether.
Some have even been cautioned by others about reading it and trying to form their own understandings. This should certainly not be the case. I will tell you at the outset that I am not an Islamic scholar, nor have I formally studied the Quranic sciences but that is not a pre-requisite for reading and engaging with the Quran and benefiting from it, as I shall demonstrate below.

Trust

Trusting in Allāh is the seed of relying on Him and if He, the Almighty is approached with sincerity, du’ā will be answered.

Way to paradise

Rabi'a b. Ka'b said: I was with Allah's Messenger (sallAllahu 'alyhi wasallam) one night. and I brought him water and what he required. He said to me: 'Ask (for anything you like)'. I said: I ask for your company in Paradise. 

He (sallAllaahu 'alyhi wasallam) said: 'Or anything else other than it?' I said: That is all (what I require).
He (sallAllahu 'alyhi wasallam) said •►'Then help me to achieve this for you by devoting yourself to frequent/lots of prostrations (sujood in prayer).'

A lesson for all( Repent & return to Allah)

Don't just watch the news of Hurricane Sandy, eating a candy. Take a lesson! Repent & return to Allah, mend your ways before it's too late to do so!

Allaah Subhanahu Wa Taa'la says,

“And We sent not the signs except to warn.” [Al-Israa’ 17:59]

Path To Paradise-A Touching Story

Every Friday afternoon,after the jumma prayers,the Imam and his 11 yr old son would go out into their town and hand out "PATH TO PARADISE" and other Islamic literature.This particular and fortunate Friday afternoon,as the time came for the Imam and his son to go to the streets with thier booklets,it was very cold outside,as well as pouring rain.The boy bundled up in his warmest and driest clothes and said,'ok, dad ,I m ready!'His dad asked,'ready for what?' 'Dad,its time we go out and distribute these islamic books'.
